UPDATE: University officials say “there does not appear to be an active threat to the community… DPSS continues to investigate. Continue to stay clear of area.”
Multiple people are said to be injured and others are barricading themselves inside a school library, amidst a possible active shooter situation at University of Michigan, Saturday, around 4 p.m., according to the school newspaper’s Twitter, The Michigan Daily.
Police are heard on scanners, saying “no buildings have been completely cleared by police yet,” The Michigan Daily said.
The Tweets further read that injuries and shooting is yet to be confirmed by law enforcement officials and police are working to secure the scene and understand what excactly is happening.
University officials have issued an alert of “Run, Hide, Fight” and say stay clear of the Mason Hall area on campus.
