The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians elected a new chief in a runoff election.

PHILADELPHIA, Miss. (WJTV) – The Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians elected a new chief in a runoff election.

According to the unofficial results, Cyrus Ben received 2,068 votes. Incumbent Chief Phyliss Anderson received 1,109 votes.

Absentee votes will be counted on Wednesday, July 3.
