JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) — The Jones County Sheriff’s Department said authorities recovered a body submerged in water Tuesday morning after a crash.
Law enforcement officers said Bush Dairy Road from Old Amy to Mullican Road is closed.
Sheriff’s deputies said they received a call from a person driving on Bush Dairy Road around 6:47 a.m. The caller said a car was in the ravine.
First responders and authorities came to the scene and saw a Jeep in the water. They believe the driver hit a guardrail and went off the road.
Crews searched for the driver near the bridge and in the ravine. They had to cut the guardrail in half to get the vehicle out the water.
He was found dead underneath the vehicle.
