Hattiesburg attorney pleads guilty to federal tax crime

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) --  U.S. District Judge Keith Starrett unsealed the federal criminal case against a Hattiesburg attorney.

The electronic court record, documents filed in the case and information presented to the
court revealed that  John Lee previously pled guilty  to Criminal Information charging him with filing a false corporate tax return for 2012. according to U.S. Attorney Mike Hurst.

The defendant is scheduled to be sentenced on March 14, 2018, by Judge Starrett, and faces a
maximum penalty of 3 years in prison and a $100,000 fine.
