UPDATE:

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) – Hattiesburg police announced that the body was identified as 24-year-old Katlyn Carter.

Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klemm said there were no signs of foul play found in the preliminary autopsy.

Police said there is no criminal element in Carter’s death.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WHLT) – A death investigation is underway after a woman’s body was found in Hattiesburg.

Police said the body of the unidentified woman was found in the 5300 block of Highway 42 just after 9:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10.

Investigators said the woman’s identity is not being released until her family has been notified.

According to Forrest County Deputy Coroner Lisa Klem, the body will be sent to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
