Warren County, Miss. (WJTV) – Warren County authorities have arrested and charged a man after a mushroom bust.
Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace tells us a Monday burglary investigation led to the mushroom bust.
We’re told deputies went to an apartment on Fisher Ferry Road as part of a burglary investigation. When they searched the apartment, they found mushrooms inside.
Sheriff Pace tells us authorities also found a pressure cooker, chemicals and other items inside that apartment, including 80 containers with psilocybin mushrooms.
The sheriff tells us this kind of bust is unusual.
We’re told authorities arrested Jason Jobe in connection to the mushroom bust. He was charged with manufacturing a scheduled one controlled substance with intent to distribute.
Jobe was also charged with residential burglary and possession of stolen firearms in connection to the burglary.
Warren County authorities tell us the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics is assisting with this investigation.
Authorities say more arrests could be expected in this case.
