UTICA, Miss. (WJTV) — The National Science Foundation awarded Hinds Community College-Utica with nearly $400,000.

Congressman Bennie Thompson made the announcement about the award Monday.

The money will go towards the Targeted Infusion Project. The projects goal is to recruit and retain students who are interested in STEM to accelerate through math courses that will allow them to get an associate’s degree and transfer to 4-year institutions.

The foundation will award the school $399,868.
