‘Sleep-Out’ event helps homeless in Metro area


JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The Mi Sigma chapter of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc. and the organization Mississippi Move held its annual event to help out the homeless in the Metro.

“Sleep-Out to help the Homeless” was held at Poindexter Park.

Clothing and food for the homeless were provided at the event.

The event started at 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

According to federal officials, the homeless population has decreased in the U.S. There was a 2 percent drown nationwide and a 10.9 percent drop in Mississippi.
