Garrison Wade hadn’t gotten it going and his head coach knew it.
So Brian Cronin said he told Wade he needed him to lead, getting the star senior to respond. Wade scored 10 of the Saints’ first 11 points in the fourth quarter to help lead St. Andrew’s past Holly Springs 48-42 for the program’s first state title.
Wade finished with 19 points and 19 rebounds, which was enough to earn MVP for the 3A title game. Rashad Bolden added 15 points, including seven clutch free throws in the final minute.
