The Mississippi Department of Public Safety has a new high tech weapon to fight the war on crime.
WJTV 12’s Jade Bulecza talked with law enforcement leadership who say a new x-ray device will save troopers time and protect them.
Marshall Fisher -DPS Commissioner
“We’ve got problems in this country with what I would call a war on law enforcement
we’ve got drugs like Fetanyl which are very dangerous that intersect at our highways and are
coming from China and Mexico, officers can be exposed to that. and the results can be fatal.”
This technology spots drugs or explosives the eye cannot see hidden in cars, ship, or planes. The Department of Public Safety hopes to add more of these handheld devices in the future.
