Homebuyer down payment assistance: $7,500 available for Mississippians

Governor Bryant will join an announcement of down payment assistance for Mississippians at an upcoming press conference.


On Friday, Wells Fargo, NeighborWorks® America and its network member, Hope Enterprise Corporation, launches a multi-million dollar collaboration to boost homeownership in Mississippi, according to a Wells Fargo Press release. 

Governor Phil Bryant be there to announce what’s known as NeighborhoodLIFT program, which is giving $7,500 in down payment assistance grants and homebuyer education for homebuyers who are eligible, in all 82 Mississippi counties. 

Reservation for the new grants begins Oct. 29, according to Wells Fargo. 
Homebuyers who meet certain criteria, are approved for a mortgage loan and in contract to buy a Mississippi home may qualify for the $7,500.

Mortgage loans made with the NeighborhoodLIFT program are not exclusive to Wells Fargo. More information about eligibility requirements are posted on the HOPE website at www.hopecu.org/lift.
