Kaelin Kersh Act heads to the Governor

State

The Mississippi House of Representatives voted to adopt the Kaelin Kersh Act and followed the vote with a standing ovation.

Changes to the language would require emergency responders to have their flashing lights on anytime they are going over the speed limit.

Mississippi State University track star Kaelin Kersh was killed when a highway patrol car going over a hundred miles an hour with no lights on hit the vehicle she was riding in.

The Senate quickly affirmed the language. The bill heads to the Governor who is expected to sign it.
