JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – A statewide tornado drill will occur across Mississippi at 9:15 AM. Schools, workplaces, and churches will be practicing their tornado shelter plan. Tornado sirens and weather radios may sound an alert, but this is only a test.
Governor Phil Bryan declared this week as Fall Severe Preparedness Week. So far in 2019, Mississippi has seen 86 tornadoes, which is 18 percent higher than the yearly average.
