The Boys and Girls Club Helps Kids Beat the Heat this Summer

News

JACKSON, MS – The Mississippi heat index has reached a new high this week but it’s not stopping kids from enjoying these summer days.

The local Boys and Girls Club has set up a system to make sure their kids are protected during the intense heat. The nearly 330 children are allowed to play outside in 30 minute intervals with water breaks when they need it.

There are also several water stations throughout the building and alternative activities have been made available for kids who choose to stay inside.

No one is allowed outside after 3:30 PM.
