Tori Bowie Day: USM honors a Southern Mississippi great

The University of Southern Mississippi is declaring November 25th will forever be known as “Tori Bowie Day” on campus.

The purpose of the recognition is to honor Bowen, a University of Southern Mississippi alumnus who earned two long jump championship medals in the 2016 Olympics in Rio.

A mural was displayed at the track complex in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The athlete was recognized during halftime of the Southern Miss vs. Louisiana Tech game for her accomplishments.

Southern Miss Athletic Director Bill McGillis called Bowen one of the greatest athletes in USM’s history.
