UPDATE: Two firefighters injured battling South Jackson house fire

UPDATE

The Jackson firefighter was treated and released from local hospital with bruised ribs according to Cleotha Sanders, the Division Fire Chief of the Jackson Fire Department’s Office of Fire Investigations.

He is currently at home resting and is expected to make a full recovery.


JACKSON, Miss (WJTV) – Two firefighters are recovering after battling a house fire in South Jackson.

It happened around 2:00 Wednesday morning at an abandoned home on Sunny Lane Drive.

Investigators said one firefighter fell through the flood and was taken to the hospital for treatment. We’re told his injuries are non-life threatening.

Another firefighter was treated at the scene for dehydration.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
