LORMAN, Miss (WJTV) – Junior wide receiver Raidarious Anderson had eight catches for 168 yards and a touchdown in Alcorn State’s win over Texas Southern Saturday.

Anderson credits the work he put in during the offseason for his success so far.

“We’re just executing, man,” Anderson said. “We’re just playing our game. We work all summer, time and time again, and it’s finally paying off.”

It was clear in the early going Saturday the Braves wanted to feed Anderson. On the second play of the game, he hauled in a 45-yard pass. Later in the quarter, he caught his lone touchdown.

“We was doing that in the summer time. Numerous reps. Numerous reps in the summer time,” Anderson said. “I just gave him a little move, and I seen the ball and just attacked it.”

After the game, head coach Fred McNair praised his team’s ability in the passing game.

“You work all week on things like that. Single coverages in practice and things of that nature,” McNair said. “I think Noah did a great job of seeing him and Raidarious did a good job of catching it.”
