WJTV – Canton High School and Ole Miss product Daronte Bouldin will be in Saints rookie minicamp this weekend as an undrafted free agent.

Bouldin put on a show at Ole Miss Pro Day in March.

The 6’5, 318 pounder pounded out 35 reps on the bench press. That performance wasn’t enough to get him drafted but he was able to secure an undrafted free agent deal with the Saints.

“It’s a foot in the door to show what I have, to play at the highest level,” Bouldin said.

The former three-star recruit didn’t have the senior season he would have liked.

As a right guard, he played in eight games and started in three, but broke his foot against Kentucky in early November.

That injury ended his season. He spent the spring rehabbing all the while hoping to get a chance in the league.

“I was happy to have the opportunity and just grateful for my name to even be in the conversation,” he said.

Well it’s no surprise he’s in the conversation.

Bouldin was a member of the 2013 Ole Miss recruiting class that has seen eight players earn opportunities in the NFL.

“It makes me feel good. Show the young ones behind me or even the ones in college right now that they can do it,” Bouldin said. “It don’t matter where you come from, where you start, it’s how you finish. Once you get your opportunity, take advantage of it.”
