New Orleans Saints QB Drew Brees is now officially the most prolific quarterback in NFL history, after passing up Peyton Manning in career passing yards (71,940).
The pass came with two minutes and left in the second quarter, as Brees connected with Tre’quan Smith for a touchdown just before halftime. The score put the Saints ahead of the ‘Skins 26-6.
The Saints signal caller came into the game just 201 yards from taking the record from Manning, a New Orleans native. Brees, at the time of the pass, amassed 71,968 passing yards for his career.
The NFL stopped the game, recognized Brees, and presented a tribute video from Manning.
