Local track stars shine at USATF National Junior Olympics

WJTV – This past weekend in Sacramento, three local track athletes made their mark at the USA Track and Field National Junior Olympics.

Clinton High School’s Demi Washington, Forest Hill High School’s Dante Brown, and Madison Middle School’s Kennedi Sanders all made it to the finals.

Sanders, a 13-year-old seventh grader, won her age group in the 100 meter dash and came in third for the 200 meter.

Brown, a 16-year-old junior at Forest Hill, took fifth in his age group for the 100 meter while coming in sixth in the 200 meter. He just started running track this past year.

Washington finished second in the 200 meter dash for her age group while also taking seventh for the 100 meter.
