Mississippi school district’s chief gets contract extension

VICKSBURG, Miss. – The superintendent of schools for a Mississippi district has received an early Christmas present from the district’s Board of Trustees.

The board last week voted 5-0 to extend Vicksburg Warren School District Superintendent Chad Shealy’s contract and raised his salary from $168,800 to $180,000 a year., The Vicksburg Post reported.

Board president Jim Stirgus Sr. said the trustees’ action extends Shealy’s contract through 2023.
