FRIDAY: The weak cold front is continuing to clear the region, and in its wake, skies will turn mostly clear, with a bit cooler (still warm) and less humid conditions. Skies remain sunny this afternoon with high temperatures reaching the lower 80s.
WEEKEND FORECAST: The weekend will be quiet with high pressure dominating our region’s weather pattern. Expect mostly sunny skies both Saturday and Sunday. As the high slides east, unseasonably warm and humid conditions will return with weekend highs in the mid 80s, and overnight lows in the low and mid 60s.
NEXT WEEK: In the extended forecast, a stronger fall storm system looks to develop over the plains with severe weather possible to our northwest on Sunday. Some showers and a few rumbles of thunder are possible Monday as a cold front transits the region. An even higher likelihood of strong storms is possible in Mississippi by Wednesday of next week. Stay tuned for updates as we enter fall severe weather season.
TROPICS: No tropical development is expected in the Atlantic Basin over the next several days.
